FanficRecs: Reflectionverse

Hello, welcome back to the FanficRecs. Although there are some announcements, such as me having a Green Walk and Doorprize on Sunday morning followed by Bazaar in the Evening, so that makes me unable to record a track on Sunday. There’s a chance that either I will record on Monday, or there wouldn’t be any post on Tuesday at all. We’ll see about that.

Anyway, it seems like the time has finally come by the randomizer into the Fanfic Recs. Reflectionverse, also known as its full title, “The Body Reflects the Heart, the Shadow Reflects the Soul” which is admittedly a bit hard to remember and say. Reflectionverse is a Persona fic set in the sequel of Strikers, starting in 2018 where various Metaverse and Shadow Nest-related incidents since 2009 has finally broke the Shadows into the real world, merging the real world with the Metavese and turning Personas into a public knowledge. Naturally, the Persona Users have to adapt to begin protecting the masses from the attacks, including the Phantom Thieves. While things are initially a bit rough, eventually they and the Shadow Operatives are working together. However, that’s not just all, the Shadows are appearing all over Shadows. People turning into Corporeal Shadows and several countries are collapsing. And of course, obviously, Japan is the safest country right now considering the massive amount of Persona Users compared to anywhere else. However, despite the bleak description in the beginning, this fic is pretty much lighter than you think, and that’s what I love about this. This fic is pretty much in tone with regular Persona Stories but the combat are now happening in the Real World instead of some kind of other realms. And of course, with the Metavese merging there’s ample opportunities for Persona Users to awaken as well, including the main OC of this story, the Author’s Self-Insert, Kenzo Okuda. And yes, there’s more Wild Cards awakening as well, who will eventually form their own Teams. Although, unfortunately, I’m not seeing any sign of Persona 1 and 2 characters, and I don’t think they would ever appear as well, that’s a big caveat from this fic, so sorry P1 and P2 fans.

This is probably the best new fic I had in a while, with very enjoyable banter, good balance between humor and seriousness, and the plot that didn’t went into the SMT Situation of Bleakness, this is I think the perfect Shadows in the Real World I’ve seen. But some warning here, the Universe of this Fic is continually expanding every day, with so many OCs that is already planned for the future but haven’t appear in the story yet. Including mine, I have an entire team of OC added for a region in the world that is not Japan, and many others. Some are brand new, but I won’t say who they are They will eventually, but this fic will take a LONG time and would probably has no end in sight. in fact, this fic is so expanded that it has the Discord Server where you can trade ideas, seeing glimpses of the future of the fic and such. But beware that there would be massive spoilers obviously, so you can join the Discord Server at your own risk. And speaking of Spoilers, that’s all I can say about it, because there’s so many spoilers both already written in chapters and in discord that I refused to elaborate before I accidentally say anything.

Either way, this is where you can read the fic. The AO3 version is the most up to date one while Raptor is slowly catching up the chapters loadout on Fanfiction

But of course, to get some glimpses to understanding the story, you can read the Tv Tropes and see if you’re interested to learn more about the story from there:

As for the Discord, well, I recommend you to read the story first before you check the Discord, where it’s link in the story as well.
